"Parts Work" (IFS)

Maybe you’ve been in therapy before or maybe this is your first time, either way my approach will be helpful for you! 

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I use a type of therapy called Internal Family Systems (IFS), developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz. Which is the idea that we all have different layers and “parts” to ourselves and to our inner psyche. Often times those parts come out as anxiety, depression, lack of motivation, “controlling” and the list goes on and that is what people often come to therapy for, to “fix that” part and to “manage” those areas in your life.

However, with IFS, I want to do more than manage those symptoms, I want to help you HEAL those parts by discovering what wound they are trying to protect and to give compassion to those areas in your life! I want to help you find peace and healing by focusing on your mind, body and spirit. IFS helps you find where you are holding these parts in your body and helping you free it so it is no longer getting in the way of your daily life.  

I help individuals un-layer the different parts of themselves. I help add compassion to those parts that you hate and in turn, help heal those inner wounds that keep showing up now in ways that are preventing you from moving forward in your life.

Maybe you feel like you should “stop feeling” a certain way and you get frustrated with yourself for feeling “stuck”. I can help unstuck those feelings and to gain more understanding and compassion for yourself. I believe everyone has the ability to heal, you just have to be willing to face things about yourself that you might have tried hiding away for so long.
